The Perfect Spinach Dip

Happy 2019 Everyone!!!

There are many different Spinach dip recipes out there. Have you ever been to a pot luck and the Spinach dip is store bought or how about runny and it looks like it has mustard in it?  Yuk!!! About 27 years ago I went to a baby shower and the host had served spinach dip. It was AMAZING!!! I asked her how she made it and she stated that it was just the Knorr recipe, but it was in the technic!

For Years and Years, I refused to give up the recipe, but as you can read and see I finally broke down….

Items you will need:

Cutting Board

2 Bowls with Covers/Lids

1 Colander (For the Spinach)

Food Chopper (Pampered Chef Food Chopper – See Link in Menu)

Fork

Prep Knife

Mixing Spoon

Food Items you will need:

120z Bag of Frozen Chopped Spinach

1 container (16 oz.) sour cream *

1 cup Kraft Mayo

1 package Knorr® Vegetable recipe mix.

3 green onions, chopped (Pampered Chef Food Chopper)

Well let’s get started.

1. Place the frozen spinach in a colander and place in cooled water to thaw. Cover the bowl with a lid or cover.  This helps maintain the color of the spinach.

2. Mix all three ingredients into bowl then proceed to the next step.

3. Clean, Cut and slice the onions so they fit in the food chopper. You will want to chop them very fine.

4. Mix the onion with the Sour Cream and Mayo. Place in the refrigerator until the spinach is thawed.

5. Once the Spinach is completely thawed drain and leave in the strainer.  Are you ready to work those hand muscles?

6. Squeeze the spinach with both hands until all the water is completely out of the ball of spinach.

7. Once all the spinach is squeezed you will take the fork and separate the spinach like the above picture.

8. Then add in the Chilled Sour Cream, Mayo and Onion mixture and Mix all together with a Fork.

9. Now transfer it to whatever container, bowl you would like.

  • Can be served with Sheepherders bread, French bread, Tortilla chips, RITZ Crackers. And one of my favorites is with Crudités.

Note that this must stay refrigerated or chilled.
